Help Dewey Heal: Surgery for My Best Friend

Hello friends, animal lovers, and kind-hearted strangers,

Today I’m reaching out to share what’s going on with someone who is very close to my heart. It’s the story of Dewey, my adventurous, free-spirited, and incredibly loyal pup who has been my best friend and guiding light for the past six years.

Dewey’s spirit is medicinal, the amount of unconditional love and joy he has brought to my life would be impossible for me to express in words. The moment I saw Dewey as a tiny puppy in the shelter, I knew without a doubt that we would be walking side by side as long as fate would allow.

Earlier this year he suffered a tear in the crucial ligament in his knee while playing in the sand. We have worked to heal with rest and supplemental care, but without urgent ACL surgery, his world has been very limited to bed rest and staying indoors.

As a husky, he lives for adventures and hiking. Without exploring and enjoying nature for the past six months, we feel an empty space in our days.

Lately, he has not felt like himself. Watching my sweet boy struggle has been heartbreaking, but we are determined to help him heal and to see the light return to his eyes as he finds himself healing.

He has given so much over the years: love, laughter, and endless adventures. Now, he needs our help. If you feel called to offer funding for his surgery, your generosity will allow him to continue on for the better part of his earthside journey, living life to the fullest and without pain.

Our financial goal is to cover the cost of his surgery- the only thing standing between Dewey and his ability to enjoy the world he knows and loves to explore.

We are confident that once he is able to get the help he needs, he will be feeling like his spunky and happy self once again. It would be a blessing and a gift that will keep on giving… if you know him, you know how much light he brings into this world.
