On October 1st, in the second race at Charles Town Races, Denis and his mount clipped heels and suffered a serious fall. The accident resulted in eight fractures throughout his spine and required surgery to stabilize his injuries. The extent of his injuries has been overwhelming and has changed life for Denis and his family in an instant.

Denis underwent surgery to stabilize his fractured spine. Surgeons performed a T7–T9 spinal fusion, placing six screws and two titanium rods to stabilize the injured area. Thankfully, the surgery went well, his fractures are now stabilized, and despite the severity of his injuries, Denis remains neurologically intact.

His family is incredibly grateful for the doctors and medical staff who have cared for him and for the overwhelming amount of support they have received since the accident.

The calls, messages, prayers, visits, and countless offers to help have meant more to Denis and his family than they could ever fully express. During an incredibly difficult and uncertain time, knowing how many people are thinking of Denis and standing behind their family has been a tremendous source of comfort. They are truly humbled by the kindness that has been shown to them.

Those who know Denis know how hard he has always worked and how important his family is to him. He takes great pride in being a husband and father and in providing for his family. With his injuries leaving him unable to work, Denis and his family are now facing a significant and unexpected loss of income while he recovers.

So many people have reached out asking how they can help Denis and his family, which is why this fundraiser was created. Any funds raised will go directly toward helping his family with normal household and living expenses during the time Denis is unable to work.

The goal is to allow Denis to focus on his recovery while helping his family maintain as much stability and normalcy as possible during this unexpected time.

There is absolutely no expectation for anyone to contribute. For those who would like to help, whether through a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or simply continuing to keep Denis and his family in your thoughts and prayers, every bit of support is deeply appreciated.

Denis and his family cannot thank everyone enough for the kindness, concern, prayers, and support that have surrounded them since the accident. They have a long road ahead, but knowing they are surrounded by so many people who care has made an incredibly difficult time a little easier to face.

Thank you for continuing to support Denis and his family throughout his recovery.
