Helping Dave Osmond

Hi Everyone,

No one ever hopes they will need to turn to a platform like GoFundMe. Yet here I am creating a post to help support my sister Rhonda Hillier and her partner Dave Osmond.

My name is Paula Webster and together with Rhonda’s friend Angela Crawford, we have decided to create this fundraiser to help support two amazing people that are trying their best to deal with terminal illness.

On August 2nd, Dave was admitted to hospital having suffered multiple seizures. Shortly after being admitted, they received the news that a mass was visible in Dave’s brain scans. On August 9th Dave underwent brain surgery at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s and doctors were able to remove 60% of the tumour. Within a few days the diagnosis was Glioblastoma and it’s aggressive. Within 3 weeks of surgery, the tumour had grown to exceed its initial size. There are no more treatment options available for Dave.

On September 18th Rhonda was able to bring Dave home from the hospital. He has a few hours a day of homecare, and Rhonda is his main caregiver. She opted to take leave from her job to care for him until she is no longer able to. Financially this is a terrible strain, however having him home for however short a time, is her priority.

Rhonda and Dave met several years ago and it was such a blessing. Both had past marriages and both had sons. Despite the odds they fell in love. They were happy and built a life together. They had so many plans for the future and now they are here. We are heartbroken for them.

Angela and I are hoping to help alleviate at least a little of the financial burden by creating this fundraiser. Any contribution you make will help more than you know.
