Hello, my name is Kristina, and I am a coworker of Tricia Greenwood. Anyone who has met Tricia knows she has a heart of gold. Her family was recently struck with unexpected and tragic news.
Her 41-year-old husband Dave went in for a chest X-Ray after having a cough and they found a very large tumor in his chest. After two inconclusive biopsies the doctors think it may be lymphoma but are unable to determine which type. This unknown and inability to start treatment has caused a massive delay in treating his symptoms. Aside from the cough the cancer has created a buildup of fluid in his lungs and in the lining around his heart causing pressure to build up. The Oncologists in Coeur d'Alene referred him to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for further testing. Dave had the fluid in his lungs drained twice along with a drain tube placed to help him breathe better, but these treatments made the journey to Minnesota too risky for flying. Tricia's brother graciously took off work to drive them across the country in search of answers.
Tricia and Dave had to leave behind their 13-year-old son Austin who has autism and needs to remain home for therapy. Tricia's sisters are taking care of Austin and getting him to and from his appointments. An added level of complexity come with their home being in St. Maries and Tricia's sisters living in Spokane. Tricia's mother and father who normally help with Austin are away in Seattle as Tricia's father battles Lymphoma as well.
As you can imagine, the expenses for this uncontrollable situation are building quickly. With so much emotional turmoil for this family, it is my hope that we can assist in the financial burdens they face. Whether it be a monetary donation or even a simple share, any support would mean so much to them.
