Hi friends, family, and kind strangers,
This is one of the hardest things I’ve had to write, but I’m doing it for someone who means the world to me—my beautiful service dog, Darla Mae.
She’s a 3-year-old French Bulldog who has changed my life—and the lives of everyone she meets.
Though her future as my service dog is currently on hold, Darla has always been more than just a pet—she’s my constant companion, my support, and my lifeline. She is the brightest light in my life and a little ray of sunshine to everyone around her.
A few weeks ago, Darla was officially diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD)—a painful, degenerative spinal condition that is now threatening her ability to walk. Seeing her struggle to stand, play, or even move without discomfort has been absolutely heartbreaking.
Right now, her only chance at avoiding permanent damage—and possibly paralysis—is through urgent physical therapy and rehabilitation. We’re putting everything we have into helping her heal through non-invasive care, because spinal surgery is our last resort. If it comes to that, the surgery could cost up to $15,000.
Her recovery journey is already underway, but these treatments come at a significant cost. I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help—but the reality is, I can’t do this alone. Between rehab sessions, specialist appointments, medications, and the potential cost of surgery, the financial burden is more than I can manage on my own.
If you’ve ever met Darla, you know the joy she brings to everyone around her. She has a way of making people smile, even on their hardest days. She’s done that for me more times than I can count—and now, I want to give her the same chance she’s given me: the chance to live a happy, pain-free life.
If you are able to contribute anything—no matter how small—it would mean the world to both of us. Every donation goes directly toward her care and recovery, giving her the best possible chance to get back on her feet.
And even if you’re not in a position to give, sharing this campaign would mean everything.
Because she is my everything, and I’m doing everything I can for her.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me fight for my girl.
With love and gratitude,
Raven Rose & Darla Mae
