Help for Cyclone IDAI Victims in Mozambique
The Central Region of Mozambique has been hit by Cyclone IDAI with strong winds and rainfall, destroying most of Beira, the country's third largest city.
We're Mozambicans in Australia. We would like to ask for donations from anyone and well-wishers, which we plan to deliver once we get enough funds.
We intend to run the campaign until the end of June. I, Ana Francisco, will withdraw these funds into my own account. From there, I will deliver them to one of the bank accounts of Beira City Council. Please keep sharing so that we can get as much donations as possible, as Beira continues to recover from IDAI.
Please feel free to contact us should you prefer not to donate with money and donate instead though supermarket gift cards, water treatment solutions, or even through a shipping service from Melbourne, to help us quickly deliver the goods to the crisis center in Beira. Every action will go a long way towards supporting those affected by Cyclone IDAI in Beira, Mozambique.
Below are ideas of items that can also be donated for disaster relief:
1. Blankets and mosquito nets;
2. Food (non-perishable items);
3. Basic medication and hygiene items;
4. Vitamins and basic medication;
5. Warm clothing for children, women and men;
6. Toys for children;
7. Pretty much anything you can help us with;
All donations will be channeled to BEIRA CITY COUNCIL, who will know best how to handle distribution, based on more accurate data. More details of Beira City Council and its Mayor, Daviz Simango, on:
