Helping Craig Recouperate

Donation protected
Hey guys,

Most of you may know me as Pons, but please for this just call me Craig. I am currently in the hospital with an abscess in an unfavorable place. This has left me in the position where I can not really move from Point A to Point B, and day to day has become such a difficult task.

(TW: Very detailed information: Earlier in the year, I had a abscess come onto my taint (the region between the genitals and the anus). It start to swell my entire downstairs to the point where my testicles were the size of a miniature football… that almost killed me and I was out of commission for several months.

Fast forward to this past Wednesday, I started to notice discomfort and freaked out a bit but knew what I needed to do after speaking to my Urologist last time. I contacted my doctor and was given medication to knock it out and I would be fine. The doctor gravely misunderstood the severity of the issue and didn’t prescribe me enough antibiotics. The first two days went okay, and I thought it was working, but it was only fighting so much of the abscess and it got infected and started to swell.

i was bedridden in the mean time, mostly sleeping every day, all day when on Friday we noticed that I was swelling downstairs like earlier in the year and the cause for freak out had started to happen. It wasn’t. A lot of swelling but enough. I decided to wait and see if it was just due to the fact that I hadn’t been on at least day 3 of my medication and continued on in bed.

By Saturday night it was more swollen and sensitive to the point of extreme pain. I made the best of it that I could and the time Sunday night rolled around, I pushed through the pain to speak to my doctor Monday morning (Something to note is the entire time, I wasn’t running a fever). Around 12:30 Monday morning my fever spiked up to 100.7 and I decided not to mess around and go to the ER even though there has been an influx of COVID patients.

I have not had my COVID vaccine yet because I have a low immune system and was waiting on my fiancé to get her shots (in the process of) first and to the point in which I had lost more weight to make life easier on me as well because I have MLL (Massive Localized Lymphedema - google image with caution)

Sorry for the little detour - The ER doctor had actually been the same doctor that seen me earlier in the year and told me about my primary physician (which I will be changing now) giving me too little of medication based upon my weight and severity. (I also found out I had lost 44 pounds - yay!)

Added: It was here my septic levels also known as lactic acid was taken and being septic is 1.91, and my levels came back to 1.90.

Update: As of last blood culture my levels are at a 1.10. (yay!)

He then stated that the best course of action would be to get me to a hospital that better deals with large patients and has a better understanding of these issues. They contacted hospitals across the state and neighboring states and ultimately landed on where I am now. I don’t want to disclose that exact information for personal reasons - but I am in a great facility.

I have talked to several doctors here and the number one thing mentioned has been surgery. Being able to make sure that the abscess this time is able to be scanned and to make sure that it is fully gone so I never have to deal with this issue again.

However, being able to recover in a timely manner is a difficult thing to do and I would need to focus all of my time on my health and that portion of my life. This means that I would most likely be done streaming for an indefinite time. This makes financial struggles a huge worry and it has been in the back of mind this entire time while being in this best.

If you have made it this far, I really appreciate it - but the reality is this. My family is about 2 hours from home, with my fiancé also 2 hours away from me along with my dog and hotels are expensive. The battery in my truck is dead (the only vehicle that I can ride in comfortably because of my MLL) which is needed to get me home whenever I am eventually released from here. Day to day living and bills are something that’s in the back of my mind since we are now going from a duel income to a single income for myself and my fiancé.

If you have the ability to help, know it would mean so much to me. I hope you guys have a great week, and God bless you. <3
