School tuition and dorm

Hi family and friends,
     For those who have known me for several years or have recently entered my life know how passionate I am about playing softball and investing my time into my community. I have defined who I am as a leader by driving to better myself and others around me. 

An important goal that I set for myself was to organize art shows and music events to give local artists the opportunity to display their artwork and highlight and uplift "South Phoenix,"  where I was raised. South Phoenix encompasses so much history, and my goal is to one day be able to make a difference in my community by helping local businesses to grow and provide opportunities for the youth. I have been offered a great opportunity to continue my education at Kean University, in New Jersey, where I will study Public Affairs with a minor in Sustainability. I plan to work hard and I am determined to bring resources back to "My South Phoenix" community.

I am excited that I will also have the opportunity to continue to play softball at Kean University. As a softball player, I have had the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge and have mentored and coached other young girls. As many of you know that in March 2019, I injured my knee and was not sure if I would get to play again. I was determined not to give up and I am thankful and excited to have accepted a spot on the Kean University softball team. 

Kean University is a Division III school, which means they only offer academic scholarships. The school is only able to provide me a $5,000 scholarship for the year, which leaves me responsible for the remaining balance for my schooling and dorm. Being a student athlete, I will be working hard to maintain my grades and juggling my practice and game schedule. I am requesting financial donations towards the cost of my schooling. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I begin my new journey.
