Hi friends and family,

I’m starting this fundraiser for my brother, Corey, and his wife, Leah, during a really tough season for them.

If you know Corey, you know he is one of those people who truly loves his job and the people he works with. He has worked at Baptist Hospital’s Emergency Room for over 10 years as a Unit Coordinator and has built such a strong work family there. He is well-liked, dependable, and always goes above and beyond. He hates missing work because he never wants to leave anyone short-handed.

In late August 2025, Corey started having severe back pain. He has since been diagnosed with a disc protrusion (a type of herniated disc) at L4-L5. Since then, he has missed multiple work shifts and has not been able to pick up overtime like he normally would. There were days he tried to push through and go to work, but physically couldn’t make it through his shift.

The pain has been intense and has even caused him to pass out at times. Right now, simple things like standing for long periods or cooking dinner are extremely difficult for him. He’s doing his best to rest and heal, but being out of work and in pain at the same time has been incredibly hard on him and Leah.

At the same time, Leah has just started a new full-time job as a preschool teacher, so their household is adjusting to a lot of changes all at once.

This fundraiser is meant to help with things like hospital stays, ambulance rides, MRI copays, medical bills, lost wages, and even everyday needs like quick and easy meals for whenever Corey isn’t able to stand long enough to cook. The goal is just to take a little pressure off while he focuses on getting better.

There is absolutely no expectation to give. We know everyone has their own struggles, and even sharing this or keeping them in your prayers means so much. If you are able to help, please know how deeply grateful they are.
