Colin Davidson (better known to most of Glasgow as Conzo Throb) is one of the city's most distinctive and talented artists. If you've spent any time walking through Glasgow with your eyes open, you've probably seen his work. It's playful, colourful, creative and full of positive energy.
He painted the Glasogw's miles better wee smiley face on 'The Wee Yin during' the People Make Glasgow building campaign I've been running recently, a piece that has put smiles on thousands of faces of people all over Glasgow over the past few months.
This past weekend, while Colin was painting one of the columns under the Kingston Bridge, he was involved in a road accident on his bike and is now in hospital recovering.
Being a working artist is hard at the best of times. Earning is unpredictable, the work is physical, and there's no sick pay when you can't work. Colin has a few weeks of recovery ahead of him, and I wanted to do something to take the financial pressure off so he can focus on getting better.
That's why I've set up this fund.
Whatever you can spare, big or small, goes directly to Colin while he can't work. Every contribution helps.
If you've ever smiled at one of Colin's pieces around the city, this is a chance to send a smile back his way.
You can also support Colin by visiting his shop, Grateful Gallery, and picking up one of his prints. They make incredible gifts, and every sale helps keep him doing what he does best.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Glasgow is built on people who look out for each other. Let's prove that for Colin.
Sending positive energy your way, Colin.
Get well soon!
