Helping community member, in over their head!

I'm raising money to help Second Hope Rescue Inc, aid a Southern Maryland community member that has found herself in over her head when trying to help the stray cats around her home.

Our picture is one of the first kittens we were able to get from her. This one was so sick we thought we would lose her. A new environment, love and medical care saved her.

She lives in a neighborhood that has a very busy road plus other animals running the area. She was feeding the cats but when they started disappearing she opened her home to them. As you can imagine they have just multiplied since then.

A good Samaritan previously tried to help and reached out to the larger rescues in the area. The feral cat group refused to help since the cats live in the house (they are still completely feral). The other rescue that has been established for many years and has the reach and donations, suggested that all these cats be surrendered to the shelter.

Second Hope Rescue and a group of cat loving individuals have been trying to help thus woman. Help, not just with the vetting, but rehoming and ensuring the individual doesn't get back in this position.

Currently we owe for 11 of the cats we were able to help the first attempt. We now have another 20 (which includes kittens). These cats are being altered at our local, awesome Well Pet Clinic to keep the prices as low as possible.

The weather is breaking so we need to move on this as quickly as we can. We have transporters available, all we need now is the funding.

People have asked why Animal Control has not been called, we believe rescue does not just mean the animals, it means helping the community members as well.

We are trying to raise enough to pay our outstanding bill, alter/vet the current population and any more litters that may be born before we can contain this.
