Hello, I'm Wendi (Tibbetts) DeRienzo and this GoFundMe is to do whatever I can think of to help and support my best friend Christine (Potter) Chesley. We have been such close friends for 48 years now, and I consider myself so very blessed to have her in my life!

Christine's husband, Robin Chesley, has been extremely sick for years and unable to work. After getting Covid-19 back in 2021 and being hospitalized, he has been confined to home and on oxygen 24/7. He has needed to have someone with him at all times; therefore, she had to cut her hours drastically (and was the only breadwinner at that time) to care for him. She and her children (Morgan, Michael & Amanda) also had to do the same so that they could take turns caring for him while each of them tried to work as much as possible.

Robin was hospitalized at the end of June 2025 and was in and out of ICU. He never returned home, and they all had to take time off from work to make sure that one of them was always with him. He was the most amazing husband, father, and Gampy, and he just kept fighting. He was the happiest when his family was there, especially his two grandchildren (Sophia & James).

I have known and been friends with Robin since the 9th grade, and I can honestly say that I never saw him angry. He was absolutely a joker, and often I had to look at his face to know if he was serious or joking (99% of the time he was joking). He adored his family more than anything, and Chris and I could never get him to go away with us for a weekend because "the kids might need me." He was just truly such a great man!

Robin lost his fight on Sunday, February 1, 2026, with his family right there with him. To say that they are all just devastated is an understatement. You try so hard to prepare yourself for the inevitable, but the selfish side of you just wants them to stay, and that is exactly what they all went through.

I am trying to do anything possible to help get them all through this, and I decided to try to see if doing something like this could at least ease some of the burden that they are going through. There are so many medical bills, funeral expenses, and missed work that Chris is going through, and I just want to help if I can.
