Helping children in Southeast Turkey

Dear friends,

I am saddened to share with you the devastating impact of the recent earthquake in Southeast Turkey, which has left many children without homes, families, or basic necessities. As you know, I have been working with many of these children and their teachers in Diyarbakir, Adana and Gaziantep, and I feel a deep responsibility to help them recover from this traumatic event.

With the help of my field crew, local authorities, and teachers, we are assessing the extent of trauma experienced by the children, and we aim to provide them with essential items such as school supplies, playground equipment, and clothing, as well as direct donations to repair damaged schools. To kickstart this effort, I have launched a private fundraising campaign with a seed amount of 5000 Euros, and I am reaching out to you, people who know and trust me, to donate whatever amount you can.

This is a targeted campaign, and I will not be circulating it on social media. Feel free to share this appeal with your close friends and colleagues but I kindly ask you to refrain from circulating it on social media. Your donation will go directly to helping the affected children and their schools and communities, and I will provide a report outlining all benefited schools and teachers. Furthermore, I will provide evidence of all incurred expenses to you in the summer of 2023.
