My name is Takara and I'm an independent artist from Adelaide, Australia. I moved to Chicago a few years ago and found a passion for its people and culture. It's clear the arts & entertainment world has taken a huge hit due to COVID-19 and while myself and so many others can't express our art like we'd like to, I wanted to do something different.
I created this song with the hopes of raising funds to help take care of Chicago's nurses and doctors at Roseland Community Hospital. I'm struggling right now like so many other Chicagoans, but I'd love to be able to use my voice for a simple act of kindness. Roseland Community Hospital does not have the same resources as Rush, Lurie Children's, Loyola, & Northwestern...it's often left to pick up the pieces of gang violence. Currently, their nurses and doctors are working overtime with COVID-19 and I'd like to pick up the tab for them.
Everyone that donates will receive the downloadable link to my song. It's yours, you own it. Each donation will also help frontline responders as a simple act of kindness. I'll even include your name in a large thank you note to them!
