Helping Carmen After Sudden Death of Her Partner

Saturday evening, my cousin Carmen lost her partner, John Shelby, suddenly in a car accident. He lost control of his car, overcorrected, struck a utility pole, and was killed on impact. It was a gruesome death and John's father identified him, hours before Father's Day.

Carmen and John have been together since 2013 and are both members of the deaf community. They have a sweet son together named Kian who is autistic. Unfortunately, the family has no insurance to help cover the cost of John's funeral, burial, and other expenses as John was the family's main source of income. We're trying to gather together as family and friends to support Carmen and Kian at this devastating time in their lives. We're all still in shock.
