Helping Captain Trevor and Gardania to Rebuild
Donation protected
If you have ever taken a trip with Captain Trevor, then you know how amazing he is! Trevor and his wife, Gardania, live in Treasure Cay. Trevor is an experienced yachtsman and captain. Prior to Hurricane Dorian, he owned a beautiful express fisherman boat that he used to show people the beauty of Abaco. Whether it was taking people out fishing, going to visit the pigs, feeding sharks, turtles and stingrays, or maybe heading to Nippers for drinks, Trevor always made the adventures special.
Trevor worked hard to become a captain and own his own boat. To those who haven't had the pleasure of meeting Trevor and sailing the high seas with him, he is one of the kindest and most genuine people in this world and more than deserving of our generosity. Many people who have visited Treasure Cay will tell you how Trevor made their vacation. This is an opportunity for us to give back.
As you all know, Hurricane Dorian ripped through the Bahamas and destroyed our beautiful Abaco and Treasure Cay. We have been in touch with Trevor, and he is currently in Treasure Cay. Despite losing everything - his home, his boat, his livelihood - he is helping with the humanitarian efforts, which goes to show the kind of person he is. He has set up shelter and is helping to distribute supplies and do whatever he can to help the people there. This is his home, and these are his people.
His beautiful wife, Gardania, is currently in Fort Lauderdale, and she is alone and has nothing, as their home was completely destroyed in the storm. We currently have her in a hotel and she has found a modest apartment for her and Trevor that she is hoping to rent for when he returns state side.
We are hoping that everyone who loves Captain Trevor and his wife, Gardania, might consider donating to help them get an apartment, buy some basic clothes and food, and help them get on their feet and settled until they can eventually return to Treasure Cay.
All of the money raised will be given directly to Trevor and Gardania so they can have direct access to the funds to help them rebuild their lives. Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated and thank you all so much for your support. I'm sure Trevor and Gardania will be forever grateful for all of you.
The organizers of this campaign are all friends of Trevor and Gardania, and visitors or home owners in Treasure Cay. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any questions. (Mark Lowery, Rachel Ellis, Jill Meuse, Becki Charboneau, Emmy Whitney)
Please note that after discussing the details with Trevor and Gardania, the funds will be withdrawn by Emmy Whitney for technical/logistical reasons. And then all funds will be transferred to them personally.
