Hi, my name is Jessie and Joey is my little brother. If you haven't heard Joey has been experiencing some major health issues out of nowhere.

Started with a fall Sunday April 07 and having his pink toe stitched up. First time for stitches and first time visiting a hospital for himself. Received his medication and was sent on his way home.

Monday, didn't feel great but no real need for worry. Tuesday a little more pain in his abdomen. Wednesday his pain became unbearable and his girlfriend Kelsey took him to the Hospital where they determined it was his appendix. While waiting for surgery it became apparent his appendix did rupture and there have been numerous setbacks since then. He remained in the hospital for almost a week being able to return home Tuesday evening. Still in some pretty bad pain Joey went back to the hospital Thursday April, 18th and it was determined that he would need to transferred to a larger hospital north of Islamorada (Miami).

We're currently waiting for more results.

We all know Joey has a heart of GOLD and he has the pride of a stubborn old man so I am taking charge and starting this Gofundme for him. He is missing some really good fishing right now unfortunately and his bills are rolling in more than ever. Joey currently does not have benfits including health insurance.

My brother has participated in multiple fundraiser in his life and would give you the shirt off his back. Right now he needs our help! So many of you continue to keep Joey in your hearts and we are very thankful for that. At the moment we are unsure when Joey will be able to return to the water and for a boat captain thats terrifying.

His girlfriend is currently missing work as well to care for Joey since it's just the two of them down in Islamorada aside from friends. As family we can't thank Kelsey enough for being there and helping Joey right now.
