My name is Whitney, and I am the mother of this precious girl. She was born with a duplication of chromosome 19, which is very rare. She’s been through so much in her 15 years of life. Last January she became very ill and spent 52 days on a ventilator and 84 days total in the hospital. She was diagnosed with flu A and bilateral pneumonia. Going into the hospital she was mobile but coming out and ever since she is wheelchair bound. We have been to numerous doctors in the last 9 months and still have no answers to what’s going on. She had several appts coming up and we are hopeful we will find out what’s going on. I am her primary caregiver and it’s getting extremely hard to transfer and pick her up as there isn’t but about 25 ponds different between the two of us. We were hoping that things would change for her and we wouldn’t have to go this route but we are in need of a medical handicap van to transport her. We are truly blessed that the lord seen fit to keep her here with us. She is so precious, loved and full of life and she never meets a stranger even though she is non-verbal. Handicap vans are so extremely expensive but this would make life so much easier on her as well as me. If you feel lead to help us in this journey it would be greatly appreciate and we would be truly grateful.
