Helping Buttercup and her tiny family
Donation protected
Buttercup is an incredibly sweet, loving and friendly cat who was found outside without a home in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
Shortly after being rescued, Buttercup gave birth to a litter of NINE kittens. We've never heard of a litter as large as hers. But despite being a wonderful mom, we're worried about Buttercup's health.
Buttercup was diagnosed with a heart murmur. While heart murmurs in cats can often be innocent, an initial diagnostic test indicates that Buttercup's heart murmur is abnormal - something might be wrong with her heart.
To find out more, Buttercup needs an echocardiogram. This is a specialty diagnostic tool that takes images of the heart, allowing veterinary cardiologists to tell us whether or not Buttercup has heart disease or another underlying condition and put a care plan in place for her.
We are working to book Buttercup an appointment with The Animal Caridiology Center here in NYC, where echocardiograms typically cost $1,200. We've put the fundraiser goal slightly hire than this to help cover any other unexpected expenses related to the visit and our transit to and from.
Buttercup is just a baby herself, estimated to be 1 year old. She is a wonderful mother and she deserves a long happy and healthy life ahead of her. We want to help get her that future and need this appointment to do it.
As a reminder, the rescue work I do is not backed by a larger institution, gofundmes like this are how we are able to provide specialty care to cats like Buttercup. We literally can't help sweethearts like her without you - thank you for coming together with us to make it possible!
