Hello Friends
Here is an update from... 06/9/2021
Guy has taken a turn for the worst and is in need of a very aggressive surgery. Marie has been forced to take a family medical leave to care for him. Guy will be undergoing surgery in the next week or two and they truly need us even now more than ever. I am begging that we can all put a little more money into this fund to help them for the medical bills are racking up and there is little to no money coming in. Please help them! Every penny counts, so please do what you can. May God bless you all and may God bless the Buonomo family!
It is with great sadness I am writing this. Our friend and volunteer Malverne Fire Fighter Guy Buonomo has been diagnosed today with a very aggressive throat and neck cancer. His doctors are going to attack his tumor very aggressively, but this means Guy will have to have surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. In total Guy’s doctors believe Guys treatment and recovery will take about 6 to 8 months. His doctors informed Marie and Guy tonight that both Guy and Marie will have to take a leave of absence from their jobs while they are treating Guy. The doctor pulled Marie to aside and said she will need to be by his side for he will be very weak. We can all imagine taking this much time off from work what this can do to a family’s finances. A lot of the treatment nor medication that Guy will endure and take will not be covered under the insurance that they have so the medical bills will rack up for them unfortunately. So, I am putting this request and plea out to our friends, families, and community to please help this amazing family for who we all know and love. Please give what you can to help make this stress of at least the money issue not be there for them. Thank you in advance for your support and I know from the bottom of Marie’s heart she thanks you. When I told her, I was doing this she wept un-controllably and could not stop saying thank you. Just in case you do not know Marie or Guy they have 4 Children ages ranging from 19 to 10.
