Help Brenda Meet Medical & Transportation Needs

Hi, my name is Kenzie Pittman and I'm fundraising for Brenda (Brown) Neese. Brenda was born and raised in Clay County, Indiana and is a 1986 graduate of Clay City HS. She and her husband Chuck Neese moved to Georgia in 2015 for Chuck's job relocation, which is where they currently reside.

Brenda suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, a disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of the nerves. It disrupts communication between the brain and the body and slowly causes paralysis.

A couple of years ago, Brenda was able to perform activities of daily living like dressing herself, cooking, doing laundry, etc. until she was hospitalized. This is when she was septic and lost a great deal of functionality. After her hospitalization, she went to a rehab center for therapy. Within the first couple of hours she was there, she was rolled out of bed and dropped onto the floor by staff, fracturing her spine. Since this incident, she has been unable to stand or walk, is wheelchair bound, and totally relies on her husband for everything. Because he must care for her every need, day in and day out, he is no longer able to provide an income for the two of them.

Because Brenda is wheelchair bound, she relies on special transportation that is wheelchair accessible. Insurance will no longer cover these transportation costs to and from her doctors appointments, which can cost up to $300 round-trip each time. Her healthcare medical bills are also adding up due to her husband's inability to work, since he cares for her daily.

We are asking for your help, if you feel so led and have it on your heart, to please donate funds to go towards paying her outstanding medical bills, purchasing necessary medical equipment and supplies, and one of the largest expenses, the purchase of a handicap van that would make it possible for her to continue to receive the medical care she needs. This would lift a huge weight off of her shoulders, making each day a little more manageable.
