Helping Breanna Get Treatment for Chronic Pain
If you can’t donate anything, please oh please share. Thank you so much for even just reading/skimming this. ♥️
Since I was 15 I’ve had chronic pain in my low back and lower right abdomen from adhesions from a surgery that removed my appendix, part of my large intestine, and a fistula. Today I have pain in those areas, as well as my tailbone (that’s broken), mid back, upper back, shoulders, neck, arms wrists, hands, and feet and ankles, and all across my abdomen they think from an ovarian cyst or my IUD (which I hadn’t had pain from for 3 1/2yrs).
The pain never goes away, it just fluctuates between a 7-10 pain. This wreaks havoc on my SMIs (bipolar type 1 and C-PTSD). I’m not gonna get into totally how this effects my daily living because it’s sensitive, but an example is currently I can’t do regular cleaning around the house or even bring up a big load of groceries without being limited or debilitated for the rest of the day. I’ve been to the ER this year alone for my pain at least 5 times. When I go to the ER they typically give me a shot of some pain med and it takes a little bit of the edge off so I can fall asleep and I usually wake up with a little less pain the next day to not be in tears.
We’re trying to raise money so I can get treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix who specialize in treating and teaching patients how to live with their chronic pain. They don’t take our insurance, so for self pay we have to have $5k down to have my initial appointment that will determine what treatment they want me to undergo. $5k covers that appointment and treatment afterwards, and once the $5k is up we pay per visit. We’re trying to raise $6k for now since I’ll need to travel a bunch. Our gratitude for any amount given is indescribable. I’ve tried everything under the sun, but this.
Here are most of the treatments I’ve tried and providers I’ve seen:
Different pain medications tried since November 2020: Duloxatine, Gabapentin, Pregabalin, Cyclobenzaprine having tried each for a month or more. Other pain meds and anti inflammatories tried since 2/25/21: Methocarbamol, Hydrocodone, Diclofenac, Naproxen, Tordol, Norflex. Have tried using topicals such as Diclofenac gel, lidocaine, magnesium lotion, Arnica Gel, Doterra’s Blue Rub, Aveda’s Blue Oil, US Hemp Authority Certified CBD Rub, magnesium rubs and topical oil, peppermint oil, and epsom salt baths. Have tried steroid injections in my shoulders that did nothing but make it worse for a few days. Done allergy tests, food sensitivity tests, made diet changes, tried juicing, and incorporate hydrolyzed supplements and supplements with high bioavailability, vitamin D and K12, and US Hemp Authority Certified CBD Oil. Edible Medical Marijuana (as prescribed by Naturopath Doctor). Yoga.
