My name is Kellie. About 4 years ago, this little guy found his way to me. I thought I was saving him, but little did I know he was saving me. In 2021, I lost my daughter to suicide, and I was lost, lonely, and completely shattered. I didn’t know the day Boo came wandering into my yard that he would give me the love and companionship I needed. He has the cutest little crooked smile, and he’s the sweetest boy you could ever ask for. He loves everyone and loves to be loved on. Boo is with me wherever I go, and when I stop or sit down, he rests his head on my feet. He is always right beside me; I’m never alone.

One day, I noticed a lump on his paw. I thought he had scratched it or done something to it when he went to the bathroom and covered up his scent, but it never went away. I took him to the doctor, and they told me it was a tumor but didn’t seem concerned about it. At the time, we were fighting heartworms, so I just kept an eye on it. The months went by, and I switched to a new vet and got him on a wellness plan. They told me to keep an eye on it. Well, it kept growing, and cytology was done, confirming it was a tumor filled with histamine. I was to give him 3 Benadryl every 12 hours. At this time, he’s still heartworm positive, so we had to be cautious with everything. I decided to do my own research, and upon learning that this was, in fact, cancerous and could eventually cause his death, I was devastated.

An appointment was made, and we saw an oncologist who said there was a new treatment out, Stelfonta. It’s one injection into the tumor and kills all the cancer cells, and it travels anywhere the cancer went in their body. Well, that visit alone for the treatment was $1800.00. The follow-up was $300, and then he got hit with another illness and started vomiting blood. I rushed him to the hospital where I was told he had zero platelets, and they wanted to admit him to the hospital, but I didn’t have $3000.00, so I brought him home and gave him the medication and took him back to his vet three times for blood work to be drawn to ensure his platelets had gotten back up there. Finally, he was feeling better, and his paw was healing. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to take him back to make sure all of the cancer cells are gone. I just don’t have the money to do so. Boo is a good boy and the most loving, affectionate dog. He deserves to be okay and be taken care of. I would go to the end of the earth for him.

I am fundraising to cover Boo's medical expenses, including follow-up treatments to ensure all cancer cells are gone.
Just a quick update and a few more details on Boo’s Journey the night he began vomiting blood and the Vet wanted to admit him but I couldn’t afford that visit alone was $970 and had to be seen 2 days later for blood to be drawn again to check his platelets. I was able to take Boo to his Vet’s office for the blood draw where I have him on a wellness plan so thankfully that was covered but all in all for the Emergency Vet and treatment it was a total of $3293.95. With the donations I have paid down some of the balance and hope to have him in for his recheck shortly. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
