The Story of Blitzen

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart but a lot of hope for my best friend, Blitzen.

Blitzen is a vibrant, 4-year-old Husky-Pomeranian mix who has been the light of my life since the day I got her. More than just a pet, Blitzen is my Emotional Support Animal (ESA). She has been my anchor through some of the hardest challenges of my life, providing a level of comfort and intuitive support that I truly couldn’t have found anywhere else. Now, it’s my turn to be there for her.

The Diagnosis

Recently, Blitzen began showing signs of severe discomfort. After a visit to the vet, we received the news that she has developed Glaucoma. For those who don't know, this condition causes intense pressure in the eye, which is not only blinding but incredibly painful for dogs.

To stop the pain and ensure she can live a long, happy life, the veterinary specialists have recommended an enucleation (eye removal surgery).

Why We Need Your Help

While it’s a difficult decision to make, this surgery is the only way to get Blitzen back to her youthful, playful self. Currently, the pain keeps her from enjoying the zoomies and cuddles she’s famous for.

As many of you know, emergency specialist surgeries are a significant financial undertaking. The funds raised will go directly toward:

-Pre-operative bloodwork and sedation

-The surgical procedure and anesthesia.

-Post-operative pain medication and follow-up care.

Blitzen has spent her four years of life looking after me. She is my shadow, my comfort, and my family. Seeing her in pain is heartbreaking, and I want nothing more than to see her wagging her tail again without the burden of this pressure and ache.
