Hi! My name is Blake (he/him). Im 19 and I am in university. I am chronically ill/disabled and I have had some pretty extreme health issues over the last 14 months. I have been readily unable to use my legs and I am in a wheelchair 100% of the time. Ive lost alot of my ability to do alot of tasks with my hands such as writing and fine motor skills, I have no core strength anymore, and it's seeming to just keep getting worse. I emancipated myself from my biological parents April 2024 and so I have no help from them for my medical expenses. I am also unable to get a job due to my impressively hefty amount of health issues.

Over a year since my symptoms started and doctors are still unsure what is wrong with me, and there is a blood test not covered through OHIP that is roughly 200$ that would look at any sort of neuro-muscular issues.

As of February 2026, I have started the process of getting a power wheelchair because of my decreased mobility. I am losing the ability to now push myself in my wheelchair, aswell as its causing me significant pain in my hips and back.

I am also having surgery on March 2nd to have a permanent catheter put in through my stomach, which recovery will not be a blast and will more than likely take me out for a few weeks.

Because of my lack of ability to get a job, I have $3,274 due for university tuition, which I can't pay for, even with OSAP. I am also in need of other medical equipment, such as tools to help me be more independent, such as...

I am lacking in money to pay for rent, schooling and medical stuff, so im kind of at a loss here. I am also in the middle of looking for an apartment for next year, as I am living in residence at Trent University right now and can't afford to live here another year, but at the moment, I also have nowhere to live during the summer either.

I am in the middle of trying to apply for ODSP, but that process is taking forever, and I am running out of money.

I do not like asking for money, or asking for help, and any of my friends could tell you that, but I am really unsure on what to do, anything helps thankyou :)

A little bit about my personality and what I like to do!

I love rubber ducks with a burning passion. I own 152 of them, hehe, and I love to paint (the paintings don't look good now because of the loss of dexterity but I still like to try). I am an avid cook and baker when im home, I love making cookies and cakes, and basically anything to be honest. My favourite colour is blue, even though everyone thinks its yellow, probably because of my love for rubber ducks. Im impressively good at those TikToks where you have to pause really fast on the video to see an image that was put up for a millisecond. I have a fascination with New Zealand because in grade 9, I thought I could drive there because I thought NZ was in Canada- My top 3 favourite foods are Sushi, Mac and Cheese and probably BBQ chips, haha. I am Transgender and have been out for 6 years as of February 2026 I am 1 year on testosterone too!! Last but not least, my favourite movie is Forrest Gump, definitely. :)
