In January 2021 our friend, colleague and team-mate George Melling was diagnosed with MND. This fund has been set up with the permission of George and his family as a central point to raise funds.
As with everything he does, George is tackling this illness head on, and has the support of a fantastic family network and the wider reach of friends who will all play a part in helping George fight MND.
There are several fundraising events already in the making, a Bike ride that will visit all of George’s former football clubs in May, a weekend of football in the summer and I know lots of people are already doing their bit in the background to support him.
As previously stated, the fund will be used to support George & his family and to help them make some amazing memories, but there will also be a percentage of the money raised that will go to two fantastic charities, the MND Association and The Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience. (SITraN)
With permission of George, updates will be added to this page as and when appropriate, but please give what you can, support the events which will be ongoing ad lets get behind big G as he fights MND.
