“Today we fight. Tomorrow we fight. The day after, we fight. And if this disease plans on whipping us, it better bring a lunch, ’cause it’s gonna have a long day doing it.” – Jim Beaver
Hi, my name is Stacey and I hope to raise some funds for my beautiful 28-year-old niece Rebecca Duhamel. She has been recently diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, a pretty hefty name I know, basically....it grows quickly and it is on her heart. Beckie just finished her last days of a work contract two weeks ago and is currently not working as looking for another job right now isn't in the cards.
Beckie will need to complete 6 (21-day) cycles of chemotherapy and has a pretty big road ahead of her. Her mom Cheryl is currently in Ontario to support her, along with her partner Cody, and myself. We will take turns supporting Beckie with these appointments and the many others that will be coming her way, along with anything else she may need.
The funds raised will be used to help with costs related to her treatment and any medical needs. It's an hour's drive to and from the hospital in Hamilton, so things such as gas, parking, meals and all of the other things that arise when she spends many days at the hospital. She has her chemo appointments, trips for bloodwork and then appointments with specialists, so lots of driving! It's often the smaller items that also add a big cost! Every little bit of a donation will help!
Beckie is completing her first cycle of chemo and is due for the second cycle to begin on April 14th. She is staying positive and taking it day by day. On behalf of Rebecca and our family, I appreciate all of the love, prayers and support shown in the past few weeks and undoubtedly in the months to come.
I will be posting lots of updates here as Rebecca goes through her chemo to keep everyone in the loop!
