Helping Beans Get to the USA

I met this dog in Belize in October. I noticed his eye. He gets picked on by the street dogs in Belize because he is a "weaker" dog and cant see them coming to attack him. Most of you have followed his story. Due to CDC requirements, it was a LONG process to get him into the USA. As the process neared the end, I hit some snags.

Planes wont take dogs easily not (cargo area not big enough anymore, planes are being made with smaller cargo areas). Cargo wasnt ideal but he's too big to ride in the cabin.

Weather. There is a very small window of time when it is not too hot and not too cold, for the animals safety. Timing his titre with a last minute weather report was not working well. Especially flying into the Northeast.

So, with the help of MANY. Marius, Owner of Ice and Beans, resident I met in Belize and Caye Caulker Humane we found a ground transportation option. Beans will be leaving next week to make the drive from Belize, up through Mexico and all the way to Boston. There will be other dogs on the trip. 2 are coming as far as Boston. The rest depart between Texas and TN.

This option is much more expensive. But, its safer, less stressful for him and most importantly, doable.

If anyone would like to help Beans get home, the cost of transport is $1850. His final vet work and paperwork to be "legal" payable to Caye Caulker Humane is $545.

I have paid his neuter and his monthly vet work (required by CDC) since October to this point. The $545 is just the remaining amount due. If anyone wants to help with a donation I can show the expense documentation/invoices to you.

Once he gets home he will have an appointment at my vet for his eye so we can see what the best option is for him. Not sure what the expense will be for that. But right now the priority is getting him home. His journey is FINALLY coming to an end! He will be arriving in Boston on Feb 27 or 28! It takes a lot of people helping in many different ways to make something like this happen.
