On December 7th the Howard family got the news that no parent ever wants to hear. "There is bleeding on his brain and he will need to be flown to a pediatrician neurosurgeon tonight."
Just turning 8 months old, Wade has quickly been learning to crawl and pull himself up on things. For most babies this means taking lots of tumbles and a try, try again attitude. The trial and error of learning to crawl/walk leads to many bumps, bruises and tears. But they never could have expected what was to come.
As a new mother Kelsey took Wade in as a precaution. He had bumped his head on a toy that day and seemed a little off so she wanted to make sure everything was OK. The doctors decided to do a CT scan so they could put her mind at ease, and to their surprise found that he had bleeding on his brain. That night they were life flighted to the nearest neurosurgeon to follow up on his CT. By midnight this sweet baby boy was in surgery to relief the pressure in his skull. To mama's relieve the surgery went as good as it possibly could have! He remained stable throughout the procedure but shortly after his blood count had dropped. A blood transfusion was given in the early hours of the morning then it was time to rest, for everyone...
Kelsey and James were exhausted and finally processing the trauma that had just occurred in the last 24 hours. Their baby was now on the road to recovery.
Although they have insurance there will undoubtedly be a heafty bill at the end of this journey.
I ask you to pray for his continued healing and if you are able, please help this beautiful family ❤
