A dear friend of mine suggested I start a Go Fund Me, and after some thought on how it could help our family- I decided to start one for my son.
Dashiell was diagnosed with Epilepsy at 3 months old. He will be 6 months old on the 27th of April. Since January, he has had 6 trips to the hospital in an ambulance for unstoppable seizures that needed immediate medical intervention. He has had 7 seizures to date, most recently Friday April 20th, 2018. We have spent 8 nights in the ICU trying to figure out how to give him the best quality of life possible and figure out how to manage these seizures better. Unfortunately, the trips to the hospital are costly. Even with medical insurance covering part of the costs, each ambulance ride is about $1,000 to $1,700- not including the ER fees and medications needed to keep him on track. We were also told to invest in an Owlet, but again these things are expensive and our family is starting to drown in all of the bills that have begun to pile up.
I know not everyone can help financially, but even a five dollar donation will get us closer to our goal and help alleviate some stress in this already very stressful situation. Usually I'm not one to ask for help, as I never want to cause a burden for anyone else, but we are in dire need of it right now. If you cannot help, I ask that you think healing, loving thoughts for my son because right now he really needs them.
I cannot articulate how devastating it is to watch helplessly as your child suffers, and the only thing you can do is beg and plead for it to stop and not have him taken away from us forever. No one should have to live this way. I will look to the future with hope that we can find something to help control these seizures and give him the life every child deserves. A happy and healthy one.
