Hi, my name is Ayesha, and I’m asking for help after a sudden apartment fire on April 4, 2026, turned my life upside down.
I had only been living in my apartment for two months. I was just starting to settle in, make it feel like home, and build a sense of stability. In a matter of moments, that was all taken away.
Thankfully, I made it out safely—but everything I owned was lost in the fire. My clothes, furniture, and personal belongings are all gone. It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to lose everything, especially just as I was beginning to feel grounded.
Right now, I’m staying with others and out of hotel rooms while I try to figure out my next steps. Starting over from nothing is overwhelming, and the cost of replacing even the basics—clothes, toiletries, food, and eventually a deposit and rent for a new apartment—adds up quickly.
This has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through, both emotionally and financially. I’m doing my best to stay hopeful, but I can’t do it alone.
I’m asking for any support to help me rebuild and take the first steps toward stability again. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward essentials and securing a new place to live. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this would mean so much.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any kindness you can offer during this time.
— Ayesha
