Helping Ayca Gokdeniz' Family Financially

I would like to ask for your support regarding a very important issue that has concerned me a lot lately.

Our Akademie (Barenboim-Said Academy) lost a new, bright student who died at the age of 19 by a sudden heart attack.

She was born in a village in Turkey and her family were farmers. She was the only person from her family that had the chance to study, thanks to her older sister, who had to work from the age of twelve because of the the difficult financial circumstances.

She was on the way to become a successful cellist and already played in numerous orchestras as soloist from a young age. Furthermore, Ayça herself contributed to her family’s mortgage by playing in concerts around the city. She planned to support her family every month with the scholarship that she would have received from the Academy.

Since she passed away, the family has not only lost the person they valued most but is also experiencing financial hardship.

Therefore, there is something concrete we can do. As there is no chance for us to get Ayça back, we thought that maybe we could come together to help her family as a visible sign of how sad we are about their loss since they are struggling with the funeral costs. (Transportation to her grave, payment for her gravestone, her memorials.)

Son zamanlarda beni çok endişelendiren çok önemli bir konu ile ilgili sizlerden destek istiyorum.

Akademimiz (Barenboim-Said Academy), 19 yaşında ani bir kalp krizi sonucu hayatını kaybeden yeni, parlak öğrencisini kaybetti.

Türkiye'de bir köyde doğdu ve ailesi çiftçilikle meşguldü. On iki yaşından itibaren zor maddi koşullar nedeniyle çalışmak zorunda kalan ablası sayesinde aileden okuma şansı bulan tek kişi Ayça’ydı.

Başarılı bir çellist olma yolunda ilerliyordu ve küçük yaşlardan itibaren birçok orkestrada solist olarak çaldı. Ayrıca Ayça, şehrin dört bir yanında konserler vererek ailesinin geçimine katkıda bulundu. Akademiden alacağı bursla her ay ailesine destek olmayı planladı.

O vefat ettiginden beri aile, en değer verdiği kişiyi kaybetmekle kalmamış, aynı zamanda maddi sıkıntı da yaşıyor.

Bu nedenle, yapabileceğimiz somut bir şey var. Her ne kadar Ayça’yı geri getiremeyecek olsakta, Ayça’nın ailesine onu kaybettikleri için ne kadar üzgün olduğumuzun görünür bir göstergesi olarak belki bir araya gelip ailesine maddi yardım edebiliriz diye düşündük. (Mezarına ulaşım, mezar taşının ödenmesi, yapılan mevlit masrafları.)
