Sharing Love with Asabi

Our dear friend Asabi is an amazing woman who has beaten so many odds as a teenage, single mom who moved across the country for greater opportunities for her and her daughter. At 26 became a home-owner in the DC area without a college education. She was on the top.

On July 1, 2024 Asabi lost her baby brother Maku. Maku was in his early 40s. Very unexpected and alone. Asabi raised him and their brother Amon, as their mother battled her own demons. She’s been working so hard to overcome the hardships of this year medically (she's dealing with the effects of 10 years of cancer recovery), emotionally and financially whilst undoing generational trauma. It’s still so very hard for her every day and I've got to watch her get better ... and I have personally spent a half dozen days in the ER for major panic attacks and other health emergencies as she continues to recover from medical PTSD and a 3 part surgery in March along with fighting systems that are meant to be "safety nets".
