Arnaldo's Medical Fund
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Crisanta, and I am fundraising for my husband, Arnaldo. Before Christmas, he started to not feel so well and his oxygen levels started to drop and breathing became difficult. On December 27, 2021, his condition continued to worsen and as a result he was hospitalized. He tested positive for COVID-19 at the hospital, and it has been a rough road to recovery for him. Arnaldo was also fully vaccinated against COVID-19, but unfortunately experienced this breakthrough case.
Arnaldo was put on a ventilator, which was recently removed. However, he now has speech difficulties, difficulties with swallowing/eating, fatigue and is overall physically weak. He has a list of other medical concerns that the hospital is working on to resolve. Given the demands hospital staff have to endure during this pandemic, it is sometimes difficult for him to receive frequent attention and 1:1 care. At this time my husband has a difficult time trying to feed himself and move around without having someone to help him. He will be transferring to an in-patient rehabilitation facility to work with speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
At first I was not allowed to visit Arnaldo as he was fighting COVID-19 in the ICU, but now I have been able to visit him. His condition would improve faster if someone was there to provide him with more care and attention for feeding himself, dressing, and cleaning. I am able to take unpaid time off to help him, but it would cause a financial hardship in having us afford to pay for his growing medical bills, rent, utilities, and food. Arnaldo's health and being there for our family, especially for our 14-year old son Cedric, is important. I intend to take time off to help my husband so that he can get better faster and be able to come home.
I am requesting for financial help in paying for Arnaldo's medical bills, and financial help to cover rent, utilities and food, as I go on a leave of absence from work to assist in taking care of him at the facility they are transferring him to.
Any amount is greatly appreciated. No amount is too small, we appreciate any amount and we are thankful for your care in advance for helping Arnaldo, me, and our son Cedric.
Thank you,
Crisanta
