Help Angel rebuild from domestic violence.

As we near the end of domestic violence awareness month I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge a victim that hasn’t received nearly the attention she deserves, Angel Flynn.
Angel fled from her abuser in March of 2022. When she left she, like many victims fled with only what she had on. She escaped to a domestic violence shelter along with her children and has continued to try to rebuild her life ever since.
Angel is currently raising her 4 children ages 13, 7, 5 & 5 and has had emergency custody as so many have seen.
Getting to know Angel more I was surprised to learn that despite her having the children majority of the time they have had to remain in the school zone she formerly resided in as the judge currently refuses to allow them to be relocated until permanent custody is granted. This means Angel drives over 3 hours a day to get her children to school. That drive? It takes her right by her abusers home everyday.
The time alone has caused her to have to reduce her availability to work. Couple that with the cost of gas (her monthly cost coming in at roughly $400) and wear and tear on her car and Angel experiences continual financial hits.
The current child support order is based on 50/50 custody yet her former abuser has paid only half of the agreed support amount and only for September. Even if he were to pay the required amount this sum doesn’t cover the grocery cost of feeding 4 growing children. She has also had emergency custody for approximately 2 months now.
To date Angel has spent over $20,000 in legal fees during the last 2 years of her custody battle trying to keep her children safe. Victims know first hand that the financial toll is just one component of the continual abuse you will have to endure after leaving your abuser. While she has spent this sum in legal fees this doesn’t include money lost as she takes time off of work and the emotional toll having hearing after hearing continued. Only postponing the progress and healing she and her children need while continuing to drain her financially and emotionally.
There is a lot of retaliation that has taken place in an attempt to further harm her. We’ve all witnessed the posts, comments and mockery. What I was surprised to learn is that once she fled in 2022 a truck left behind that was in her name mysteriously burst into flames. Her abuser didn’t have it insured and this equates to an $80,000 debt she now has.
Angel, through out the last few months has continually remained stoic to the point of amazing. She is a force to be reckoned with but at the end of the day, she and her children are still victims. Her strength is undeniable, yet her needs are also great.
So many have come forward both publicly and behind the scenes to share what they saw of her years of abuse. Each statement breaking my heart further. She suffered for years and so many knew yet didn’t know how to help. Now is that time.
Angel is still legally married to her abuser. Having to focus all of her emotional and financial efforts to her custody case she has unfortunately had to put off obtaining a divorce lawyer.
Despite the accusations that she has refused to sign papers, she has very much remained ready for a divorce. A formal divorce with the quality representation she and her children deserve.
I want to establish this gofundme to help offset her legal costs, help offset her gas, provide financial relief for her and her children and to give her the moment to breathe that she is so very deserving of. I would love nothing more than to raise the funds needed to accomplish these goals.
Throughout my time invested in this case many, including family members of a victim have tried to offer me financial compensation for my efforts. I’ve refused every single time. But I’m asking now for anyone that can to please donate to this cause. If you’ve ever shared information I’ve presented, ever felt impacted by the work put in, ever felt inspired by my heart of service, now is the chance to lend support. Let this be the Justice we’ve all waited for. There are thousands of us that have rallied in some capacity around this case. Let us come together now to create real impactful change for Angel and her children.
I have faith in this grassroots effort amongst the true-crime community and the people I have come to know within this timeframe. I believe we can do big things and truly represent how powerful our voices are when we use them collectively.
