One day, Andrea had a partner, a plan, and a future she believed in. The next, she was standing alone, focused on holding everything together for her kids.

Most of us believe that if we work hard, pay our bills, and take care of our family, things will eventually work out.

But sometimes life changes overnight.

Andrea is currently going through a difficult divorce and is the sole caregiver to her three children a 10 year old, a 6 year old, and an 11 month old under current court orders. She is now responsible for all household expenses tied to two homes: the home where she is raising her children and a second property that is currently vacant and generating no rental income. Both properties are financed, and Andrea is currently responsible for covering the full loan payments on both homes while legal matters are being resolved. She is receiving no financial support from her ex-husband. These are obligations she did not create alone, yet she is carrying them alone.

Andrea works full-time and, when possible, takes on additional weekend work to try to make ends meet. Despite her efforts, the gap between income and essential expenses continues to grow.

Our initial goal of $18,000 covers immediate and short-term expenses. Any funds raised beyond this amount will go directly toward continued housing, utilities, legal costs, and basic living expenses as the situation continues.

Although the vacant property is intended to be sold, it cannot currently be sold due to ongoing divorce proceedings and unresolved legal requirements. As a result, Andrea remains responsible for the ongoing expenses associated with the property while the matter is addressed through the courts.

Andrea also has no local family support to rely on during this time. Her only immediate family is her sister, who lives in another state, limiting the ability for hands-on or financial assistance.

During this time, Andrea has also been dealing with ongoing harassment and intimidation, which has made an already difficult situation even more challenging. Due to safety concerns, these matters are currently being addressed through the court system.

Like many parents, she never imagined she would be in a position where doing the right thing still wasn’t enough. She works, she budgets, and she puts her children first but without relief, she is facing the very real possibility of bankruptcy. This is something she is working hard to avoid, not only to protect her future, but to prevent long-term damage to her credit that could take years to recover from and directly impact her ability to provide stability for her children.

This fundraiser exists for a simple reason: to help a mother maintain stability for her children during a season she didn’t choose, and to support a family doing their best to move forward with dignity.

Hi, my name is Carolina, and I’m Andrea’s sister. I created this fundraiser because I’m watching my sister carry more than any one person should have to carry while doing everything she can to keep life stable for her kids.
