Thanks for stopping by and your consideration in helping Polar Press get off the ground.
D. W. Saur is a public educator and award-winning author who founded Polar Press after being forced to make a difficult decision regarding the future of his fantasy novel Dark Days. In October of 2023, the contract will run out and D. W. will need to either buy the rights back or watch Dark Days disappear from shelves. Dark Days was a considerable financial and time investment for Saur so the decision was easy and Polar Press was born.
Though D. W. created Polar Press to keep his work alive, the goal of the company goes beyond publishing his works. Publishing has been a roller-coaster ride for D.W. and his struggles aren’t unique. Polar Press is going to give D.W. the opportunity to ease the burden and stress of publishing from authors trying to get their start or veterans needing a company that will put them before profits.
So, why help? Why isn’t D.W. financing the company? In short, D.W. is putting in his share but he’s a public educator with some health issues that caused him to stop working his second job. It was this second job that financed all things publishing related thus far. He is also working on getting financing, but the process hasn’t been easy. D.W. is also placing all the profits from his current and future works into Polar Press but still needs a bit of help.
As a show of thanks, some goals based on the amount raised are listed below. The main reward will be discounted release prices on ebooks. It may seem like D.W. is asking for a handout, especially considering one will still have to buy books down the road. If you would like something for a donation, please consider purchasing a book from any major retailer or if you’re in Canada or the U.S., you can order a signed copy from D.W. Saur via the bookstore on his website. All proceeds from bookstore sales and royalties from retailers are going to support Polar Press so a donation here or a Saur book in your hand are equally helpful.

Please know that D. W. understands that times are tough and he wouldn’t be asking for help if he didn’t have to. The amount for this Go Fund Me may seem high but every dollar raised will help Polar Press reach the goal of opening for author submissions by 2026.
