Helping & Healing Hands for Nancy Gaydos
Donation protected
As many of you know my dear mom, Nancy Gaydos, has struggled physically for many years. From her battle against polio at a young age, breast cancer, and her latest bouts of debilitating fibromyalgia. Having undergone another surgery but this time for reconstruction of her shoulder and carpal tunnel. My mom is now recovering alone in a nursing home hoping and praying to afford the care and therapy she desperately needs. While our family and friends have wished to be at her side and assist in her care, the state of Covid-19 eliminated this possibility. It has also significantly impacted the quality of her care due to reductions in staffing and services where she is convalescing. My mom's doctor stated that she will be in need of round the clock care and therapy for a total of three (3) months. Medicare has just decided that after two weeks in the nursing home they are going to discharge her due to a lack of progress. This means that she will be headed home to an unequipped house with ONE functional limb. She will need homecare which may include but not limited to: OT, PT, and a CNA. My mom has no use of her legs so this means that she will also need all of the necessary equipment to complete the simple everyday tasks.
Our family continues to advocate on her behalf and work tirelessly to find solutions. It is with mixed feelings that we post this page but many of you have asked how we can help. We appreciate any support given and all of the prayers that have been offered.
