I would like to offer my deepest apologies due to unforeseen financial circumstances, the funeral services will not be held tomorrow, Friday, June 30th, 2023. Services are currently being rescheduled. Details of the new date will be determined soon.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but circumstances were not in our control. I am available to answer any questions.

My name is Chandra Moore, a Bronx, NY native and I'm organizing a fundraiser for one of our veteran and local community activists, Amjad Mujaahid. Last week, Amjad was notified that his mother, Mamie Jane Craft has passed away. He was her only child and was devastated by her loss. I met Amjad a few years ago through my brother, Cortez Moore both of whom are veterans. Over the years, whenever we needed information on how to assist the veteran community, Amjad was and continues to be a valuable resource of information. As I become more involved in other community activities, Amjad's name keeps popping up and he is always willing to take time out of his schedule to provide support.

Not only is he a Marine veteran that served during Desert Shield/Desert Storm he's been serving the larger veteran community in New York City for more than three decades. His mother Mamie retired as a chef in the late 1960s from Rockefeller Center's Radio City Music Hall. It's probably where he gets his love for cooking that my brother, Cortez has vouched for his culinary skills.

So when I contacted him to offer my condolences and support he mentioned the costs of funeral services $12,500. Like many of us, he doesn't have thousands of dollars in emergency funds. I thought the least I can do is assist him in raising the funds. So I've gathered a small group to help him in this endeavor.
