Helping Amanda Heal
Donation protected
Last Friday, February 25th, Amanda was picking up food at lunch around 1130 am when she was involved in a severe car accident resulting in several minor injuries and one very severe one; bleeding on her brain in multiple areas. She had lost consciousness and has no memory of the accident or hours after but was taken into the ICU, extensive testing revealed that she would need surgery for the prefrontal cortex brain bleed to alleviate pressure. She has had a few small seizures since being released as well. Severe traumatic brain injury also results in swelling on the brain. In the last week she is struggling to retain cognitive abilities and to manage the excruciating pain. She has been back and forth to the ICU and readmitted when they they discovered new bleeding on her brain. She will be in concussion therapy for 6 months. Her hospital bills are tipping 40k and this is only the beginning of those medical expenses. Along with the hospital bills, she also won’t be able to come back to work for a while as the brain heals and her body recovers. We are reaching out to all friends/family who would like to help her as she embarks on the road ahead and alleviate any bit of the the financial stresses that we can. She is so lucky to be here with us still and we are extremely grateful! Any support is greatly appreciated! We can’t wait to see our friend heal and return to the fun loving, amazing person she is. Her fur baby Nash also misses her, but is getting lots of love as his mom heals.
