Helping Aleks in her courageous fight for cancer
Donation protected
In hopes to extend the incoming generosity and make a positive difference this financial fundraiser is for our long-time co-worker and a dear friend Aleksandra Novakovic, or some of you may know her as Aleks.
Aleksandra’s life was greatly impacted while visiting her family in Europe in June 2019. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer and third stage cancer in the ovary. Aleksandra lives alone in Vancouver and has been employed as a Security Screening Officer at Vancouver International Airport for over ten years. She is well known amongst her fellow coworkers as a very energetic person that can fill the room with her infectious laughter and always with a positive look on life. Her friends say that she is always ready to offer help, either assisting passengers or support her co-worker and friends at work.
Aleks had a surgery at UBC as well as a series of chemotherapy treatments BC Cancer Agency that ended in April 2020. In the following year, the doctors will be monitoring tumor markers which will confirm her health status. Due to extensive treatments Aleks is incapable of maintaining her job and it will be a long time until she regains her full strength and comes back to work.
When someone dear to us is diagnosed with cancer, we are all affected. On behalf of Aleks and her closest friends we need your help to make our efforts go even further. Any amount of your contribution will be very much appreciated and acknowledged. Your donations will help eliminate any financial insecurities and go towards daily living costs such as housing, utility expenses, commuting, food, and any additional future expenses that benefits are not able to cover.
Thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Aleks through this difficult journey. Even besides all the pain that Aleks is enduring, she is fighting a brave courageous battle and we are certain with our prayers and support that she will be able to overcome this horrible disease.
With much love and appreciation
