***Update***Alanna has finally made it home after nearly a week in the hospital. She had 2 surgeries, one emergency surgery and one scheduled. The strength she has shown has been something I admire. Now that she is home, the medical bills will start coming in, on top of normal living and taking care of my niece. I don't want to see Alanna and her family get too set back being out of work, and am hoping this fundraiser can help with that. Love you Alanna. You have been so strong and somehow still smiling through this all. Proud of you sissy. ❤
This past Sunday, on June 7th, my sister was in a motorcycle accident after leaving a family/friend lunch outing in Ellington, CT with us. Alanna told me right before leaving the parking lot, she had seen a butterfly fly by her, and should was reminded of our Grandma Annie, asking her to protect her. Her accident happened soon after leaving on Rt. 140 in Ellington. I believe our Grandma was watching over her, making sure that she survived this accident. The unknown was the most scary part of it all. After being transported to St. Francis Hospital, Alanna had to undergo emergency surgery on her right leg. She is not out of the woods yet, as she has another surgery Thursday. Our family is so grateful and blessed that my sister is going to be okay, although this will be a long road ahead. Some people have already started reaching out to me asking how they can help, so I decided to start this account. Alanna is expected to be out of work for sometime and will need help from those around. I already told my niece, Brenna, that Mommy is going to need a nurse...she is prepared for the task. I cannot say enough how much my hearts bleeds for my baby sister (always will be my baby sister) and how grateful I am that I can facetime her still and see her smile. She has been a trooper, as she has been stuck alone in the hospital, thanks to the lovely COVID. Anything at all will help my sister and her little family get back on their feet, literally and figuratively, after this horrible accident. I appreciate anyone that can help. And if you can't help, just sharing it will help as well. Thank you so much. Love you Alanna ❤
