Helping Ahmed Stay Alive

Hello, my name is Rebecca Fitzgerald. I am from the United States. I am raising funds for Ahmed and his family. The donations from this fundraiser will be used for food, clean water and medical treatment.

This is Ahmed's story:

I am Ahmed, from Palestine. I live in Gaza, originally from northern Gaza. I was studying computer engineering before the war. We had a family and a beautiful life, but the war came and destroyed everything we had built in our lives.

We were forced to leave our home in Sheikh Radwan and go elsewhere in search of safety, but we were exposed to danger. After we were displaced, we heard about the bombing and destruction. We went to Rafah in the Gaza Strip and stayed for a month in a school where people were sheltering. After being displaced again, we were transferred to another location in Rafah, where we stayed for three months. After that, we moved to Al-Mawasi and lived in a tent, but the danger still existed. Then came the first truce, and we thought the war would never return. The tent was destroyed, but the war returned, and it was much worse. We live in the shadow of a severe famine, with nowhere to flee or find shelter. Our lives have become a constant state of destruction, and nothing here saves us except death.

We have not escaped anything yet, and I have lost people dear to my heart, including my older brother, who was martyred in the war.
