My name is Afnan Salem, and I am the only survivor of my family in Gaza. I graduated in journalism and media, and I love photography. Before the war, I worked as a kindergarten teacher, but the kindergarten was destroyed as a result of the bombing.

During the war, I worked on a contract with UNICEF as an educational counsellor for children, but my contract ended and I no longer have a job or income.

Today, I live alone in a small tent, I don't have money to meet my own needs as a girl, and even the most basic necessities of life are out of my reach. I don't have enough food, health care, or safe shelter. I face these harsh conditions on my own, with no support or family.
