Abel is a tradesman and designer who is building his life and work in Marfa, Texas. His work is deeply hands-on and detail-oriented, and his livelihood depends on physical craft, construction, and precision-based work across ongoing projects in the area.
Recently, Abel sustained a serious injury to his right hand, resulting in a broken metacarpal. The injury will require surgery in order to heal properly and avoid long-term complications such as arthritis or loss of function.
As a result, Abel will be unable to work with his hands for approximately 10 to 12 weeks. During this recovery period, he will be facing medical expenses and a temporary loss of income while construction and creative projects are placed on hold.
This fund is intended to help cover basic living expenses and medical-related costs during recovery, allowing Abel the time and stability needed to heal properly and return to his craft, ongoing construction work, and project commitments in Marfa.
Any support, whether through donations or sharing this page, is deeply appreciated. Thank you for helping Abel recover and continue building his future in the Marfa community.
