Friends:

Very recently, a young person struggling with poverty and homelessness who had almost nothing to start with lost a little more.  This young person's parent passed. 

The family is left scrambling to cover the costs of tending to their loved one's death.

This is a fine young person who has never failed to rise to the challenge of meeting the needs of his or her family while fully engaging is his or her own education.  This young person has plans for the future which will so far exceed the life he or she has known to date.  He or she is kind, respectful, selfless, and so, so caring.

Earlier this summer, I asked the young person if there was anything that he or she needed as they are living in a motel with very limited resources.  The young person replied, "Nothing that is easily obtainable."  I assumed that he or she meant food, stable housing, or healthcare.  The young person later clarified that he or she had meant happiness--now this.

Any money that we can raise to support this young person would be greatly appreciated.
