Team Nieve: Helping a Young Makeup Artist Through Cancer

At just 19 years old, Nieve’s world has been turned upside down.

Only weeks ago, she was focused on her future, having recently completed her makeup studies and looking forward to building a career doing what she loves most. Like many young women her age, she was excited about the opportunities ahead, making plans, chasing her dreams, and building the life she had worked so hard for.

Then everything changed.

Nieve was diagnosed with cancer.

Instead of focusing on her future, she is now preparing to begin chemotherapy and the fight of her life.

Anyone who knows Nieve knows that makeup, beauty and hair are far more than hobbies to her—they are her passion. She lights up when talking about makeup, loves helping others feel confident and beautiful, and had dreamed of building a successful career in the beauty industry.

One of the most heartbreaking parts of this journey is knowing that chemotherapy will cause Nieve to lose her beautiful long dark hair.

To many people, hair may seem like a small thing. But for Nieve, it is a huge part of her identity, confidence and self-expression. Losing it feels like losing a piece of herself at a time when so much already feels uncertain.

Before even beginning chemotherapy, Nieve has already had to undergo fertility preservation treatment to help protect her future dreams of one day having a family of her own. In just a matter of weeks, she has faced decisions, procedures and fears that no 19-year-old should ever have to face.

As a family, they are doing everything they can to stay positive and focus on what matters most—getting Nieve through treatment and helping her recover.

Nieve’s mum is a single parent who has always worked hard to provide for her family. Now, whilst watching her daughter face cancer, she is preparing to juggle hospital appointments, treatment schedules, caring responsibilities and the emotional strain that comes with supporting a child through the toughest battle of her life.

Alongside this, the financial pressures continue to grow. Travel to and from hospital appointments, increased household bills, everyday living costs and the additional expenses that come with cancer treatment all add up quickly.

No parent should have to worry about how they will pay the bills whilst helping their child fight cancer.

We are hoping to raise £5,000 to help ease some of this burden and provide practical support during the difficult months ahead.

A major goal of this fundraiser is to help fund a bespoke wig made from Nieve’s own hair.

For many cancer patients, losing their hair is one of the most visible and emotional parts of treatment. A wig created from her own hair would allow Nieve to keep a part of herself during this difficult time and help restore confidence when she needs it most.

Any additional funds raised will help towards:

A bespoke wig made from Nieve’s own hair

Travel costs to hospital appointments and treatment

Increased household bills and essential living expenses

Recovery, comfort and wellbeing throughout treatment

Helping relieve financial stress so the family can focus entirely on Nieve’s recovery

Nieve is kind, talented, creative and determined. At just 19 years old, she should be building her career, making memories with friends and looking forward to the future—not facing cancer treatment.

Cancer has already taken so much from her.

Let’s help make sure it doesn’t take away her confidence, hope and dreams as well.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a genuine difference. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this page could help us reach someone who can.

Your support, kindness, prayers and shares will mean the world to Nieve and her family and remind them that they are not facing this journey alone.

Thank you for helping us wrap this incredible young woman in love, support and hope during the toughest chapter of her life.

With love,
