My name is Sarah, and I’m raising funds on behalf of an incredible family who nearly lost their home in a devastating fire in Norfolk on Christmas Day. The home belongs to a beloved, long-time educator at Norfolk Academy, her husband, and their daughter.

Miraculously, no one was seriously hurt, including their precious dog; however, their house is currently uninhabitable, and many of their belongings — clothing, furniture, kitchen items — were destroyed or damaged beyond use.

They are currently staying in an extended stay motel, and the next weeks will be trying, as they have been told it will be at least twelve weeks before their home will again be habitable. Insurance and rebuilding will take time, and insurance will not come close to covering the expenses involved. They lost clothes and shoes, basics for everyday life (beds, kitchenware, bedding), and everything else you can think of that we rely upon on a daily basis.

Clothes, shoes, and essentials for the family

Household basics (beds, bedding, kitchen items, toiletries)

Food and everyday necessities during displacement
