Wow… it’s been a week today since the rug was swept from under me and 19,000 other individuals. It’s been a week filled with overwhelming emotions — sadness, disbelief, anger, frustration, anxiety… and then sadness all over again.

I joined the Spirit family in November 2017, and I was so proud and happy to be a part of the Bumble Bee Family. After flying more than 9 years prior under the Delta umbrella, family and friends questioned my decision to go to Spirit. People would ask, “Who do you fly with now?” And with my head held high, I would proudly and confidently say: SPIRIT AIRLINES!

I always defended my company when people criticized them or complained about bag fees or paying for water. So getting that 3 a.m. call on May 2, 2026 — hearing that the company I stayed loyal to and proudly represented was NO MORE — was absolutely crushing.

No goodbye. No “see you later.” No payout for earned vacation time. No sick time owed. No healthcare. Uncertainty about even receiving a final paycheck… just nothing.

As many of you know, I had a kidney transplant exactly one year ago. For the rest of my life, I will have to take an abundance of daily medications, receive monthly IV infusions for anti-rejection treatment, and attend biweekly transplant clinic visits. With no insurance.. how??

Through it all, I remind myself that God has the final say. Even in moments when I question how I’ll make it through this season, I know He is still in control.

And if you’re unable, I completely understand and simply ask that you continue to keep me — and the entire Spirit family — lifted in prayer.
