Approximately 2 weeks ago, the father of one of my first grade students was abducted by ICE as he arrived at a courthouse to proceed with his ongoing legalization process. He was not given the chance to say goodbye to his wife and 2 children.

He is a kind, hard working young father who loves his family. His son (my student) absolutely adores his father, and the family has been devastated by this.

His mother is now left alone with her children. Besides losing her husband, she has to deal with the fallout of becoming a single income household.

She is 26, heartbroken and terrified for her husband and her family.

I desperately wish that this never happened, but it did. It is happening all over America.

It doesn't feel like enough, but easing some of her financial burdens is the least I can do.

I will only be keeping this up until Monday, June 23rd. I will be giving her whatever the amount collected is on the last day of the school year.
